We've been hearing from a lot of folks who have ordered their G8's and are patiently (or, not so patiently) waiting for them to arrive. I can't blame them. The G8 really is a stunning car. It looks great and drives phenomenally. That being said, the time it takes to order and receive your G8 will depend a lot upon where you live. If you live in California, you can probably just visit your local dealer and pick one up from the floor. Some dealers are scheduled to receive their G8's for their customers within a couple of weeks. If you're living in another state, expect delivery to take additional time (as much as 3 more weeks).
There have also been a few reports that the G8's that are being produced in Australia and shipped to the states have been getting held up in the ports and in customs in California. They eventually make it into the distribution channels on the road to delivery, but we're not sure why they're getting held up. We're assuming that some of the kinks in the distribution system have something to do with the G8 being a relatively new model. If that's the case, it's probably safe to say that the delivery problems will get worked out soon.
Bottom line... if you've recently ordered your G8 and you're still waiting for it to ship, be patient. The car will arrive, as promised. It's just taking a little longer than anyone anticipated.
