Volvo Trucks North America announced Wednesday that the company and the United Auto Workers have reached a tentative agreement more than a month after a strike began at its Virginia plant.
The tentative three-year agreement would cover approximately 2,600 UAW members at the New River Valley plant in Dublin, Va. The company said it would not comment further until the contract was ratified by UAW Local #2069.
Production of Volvo’s VT, VN and VHD trucks at the plant stopped after the UAW and its affiliated #2069 went on strike at 11:59 p.m. on Jan. 31, when the company’s contract with the union ran out.
Volvo Trucks North America is part of the Swedish company, Volvo Group.
