With the beginning of the New Year Volvo Trucks have tapped new communication platform and this time it’s an iPad. Volvo Trucks have developed an e-magazine that is iPad optimized. The “Volvo Trucks Magazine” is written in English to attract readers from all around the world.
The English language, Volvo Trucks Magazine will feature true road stories of truck drivers from around the world, articles featuring latest happening in the truck technology and issues that are faced in the trucking industry.
Other features will be safety tips to truck drivers and other tips which are important to increase truck productivity and every thing that relates to truck and driver productivity.
The first issue of the Volvo Trucks is already out and covers the story of two world record holders – world’s fastest driver and Asia’s best rated driver in the eco driving challenge.
Tommy Kohle – Corporate communication senior vicepresident adds that the Volvo Trucks Magazine is a better way to bring various issues to the public that relates to the company and the trucking industry as a whole.
Volvo trucks are already communicating with its customers and other those who concern with articles channeled through print and internet media. This time the company is using a new platform iPad and gradually will also release the Volvo Trucks Magazine for other platforms.
Kohle further states that being one of the most knowledgeable companies they need to communicate through new channels such as iPad format. The magazine also features video clips and other interactive communication material.
Volvo Trucks Magazine is all ready to be downloaded from AppStore for free.
Other manufacturers also don’t lag behind in finding innovative ways to communicate. OnStar which is a subsidiary of General Motors now features Skype for its users. OnStar is also developing various applications to make them run on Android platform.
GM and OnStar have hinted that with new application the cars and trucks users would not only get entertainment options but also features such as appointment with service centers, dealer location finder, street map and much more.
