Traffic was re-routed on Interstate 75 for four hours Thursday after a crash involved two semis, two dump trucks and a van.

The crash happened in the northbound lanes of I-75 just north of Route 4.

Investigators said an officer witnessed the crash. Four people were taken to local hospitals.

Authorities said two were taken to Grandview and another two were taken to Miami Valley Hospital.

Police said the injuries were considered life-threatening at first. A short time later, police said doctors at Miami Valley Hospital found that one person in the van suffered critical injuries.

The other three people were later determined to have non-life-threatening injuries.

The four victims were trapped in a minivan for a short time.
