A logging truck driver was killed early yesterday in the first fatality involving a logging truck in northern B.C. in 14 months.
Fort St. James RCMP say the driver of a loaded logging truck was killed in a collision with an empty logging truck.
The incident is still under investigation and the name of the truck driver has not been released.
More than 30 logging truck drivers and other forestry drivers have been killed since 1995.
But MaryAnne Arcand, head of the Forestry Truck safe Program for the B.C. Forest Safety Council, reflected that there had been no log truck deaths in the North for more than year.
