
Hino Motors, a Japanese manufacturer of trucks, buses and other vehicles, plans to open an assembly works to produce trucks in Russia. The agreement was signed by Hino and Technoholding Sumotori, basing in Vladivostok. The assembly works will be set up in the Vladivostok’s satellite town Artem and is expected to be launched in one or two weeks.
The Russian assembly shop of the company will install body sides, ware or refrigerator wagons and cranes. The first trucks made on the base of chassis of Hino Dutro and Hino Ranger will be manufactured in April 2008. Besides, new chassis designed with account of Russian conditions will be supplied by the company.
The trucks will be manufactured under the Russian name Sumotori. The primary productive capacity of the new assembly shop will amount to 10 trucks per week.
