Is it possible that the users will be confused with pickup trucks and Formula 1 car? And what if they will have similar initial names? Yes, the Ford Motor company certainly thinks the same as the newly introduced Formula 1 racer car. The Ferrari which is one of the oldest and preeminent names in the Italian automaker who kept the newly model and in order to change the Ford claims.
Recently the Ferrari announced the 2011 Formula 1, the name of the race car officially in the last week. They have introduced as the Ferrari F 150, but not with hyphen mark. The reason for choosing the particular name was the car has just completed the celebration of 150th anniversary as the Italian unification. The Ford company did not entertain such things however, they manufacturer the same model but with F-150, hyphen in middle. Besides this the logo for the particular model is similar and this might create confusion amongst the buyers.
The Ford purportedly asked to rename the Ferrari models when the name was shortly announced, but the company further filed lawsuit about the claims. They told that the Ferrari racer has violated trademark about the F-150 and hence the Abticubersquatting Consumer Protection Act. Now the company is asking to pay $ 1, 00,000 due to the misleading the name and have asked to pay the amount on the profits. The Ferrari officials has already dismissed the frivolous statements but through the research and expert news we have got to know that the cars name will be changed to F 150th Italia, no space and no hyphen just an ordinal numbers.
We all know that why Ford is so keen about the name of the F-150. After all this is one of the great pickup trucks that accumulates awesome gross revenues for more than $180 in the last 14 yrs. This model was introduced in the year 1975 and hence going through the amazing reputation and more often loved by many truckers. Also this trucks was been awarded as the best pickup trucks with trademark registration in the year 1995. Now the Ford Company is just hoping that the Ferrari will look in the matter pretty well and henceforth will not make any mistakes with not only our brand but as well for any other automakers.
