The Hino Trucks has made a big splash in the market, by introducing new Cabovers in the Class 4 and Class 5 namely 155 & 195 as the hybrid-electric versions. These were introduced at the Work Truck Show in Indianapolis with much more attention given to the electric-gas hybrid trucks ever produced by any manufacturer.
For the first time, any automaker has introduced the hybrid power vehicles and this makes the Japanese industries to be proud. The Hino manufacturing unveiled the Class 4 & 5 Hybrid trucks with new models in the flamboyant fashion among the dealers, media and customers. The spoke person of the Hino Sumio Fukaya introduced the trucks by saying, “We have specially focused such trucks in order to offers extra ordinary features and facilities to the urban transport. The new offerings in the Class 4 & 5 Hybrid Cabovers will provide an efficient and affordable solution that suits the urban environment”.
The new trucks are going to be powered with 5.0 L engine, that will generate 210 hp and torque level of 440 lb-ft and is going to crank the automatic transmission speed at six. By 2020, as per the US Census Bureau, population of the US is going to be expected to touch the 320 million figures and certainly will increase 90% living in the urban areas. If more people in urban, certainly need of more products in the transportation will be required and hence the trucks class offer by the Hino are going to create a huge impact on the maneuverable trucks.
The new Class 4 & 5 Hybrid is powered with the Hino JO5E Series in engine, which is going to utilize the selective catalytic reduction and exhaust aftertraetment. This further is going to allow meeting the stringent of EPA 2010 standard emissions without us of any EPA credits. It is expected that the Class 4 & 5 Hybrid versions are going to share similar components from the Toyota Prius. The Class 4 & 5 Hybrid with 155h and 195h is in the sixth generation and for the first time the combination of hybrid and engine control units is going to work in order to maximize the effective hybrid system.
The manufacturer has not yet revealed the pricing quotes for the Class 4 & 5 Hybrid. The Class 4 & 5 Hybrid in 155h & 195k will be available in the early September to Canada.
